Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, I feel I must urge you to consider this matter most carefully. I do understand that suppression lists will create gigantic problems for business owners on the net. Fact is suppression lists will seriously damage many of the legitimate publications available on the net. My concern is for publishers who require permission from the consumers prior to adding them to any list. We're not who CAN-SPAM was designed for. However this requirement will very likely effect permission marketing if approved. Your idea of suppression lists could easily fall into the hands of spammers, leading to more spam instead of less. My gut feeling tells me that you wouldn't want that to happen. I really hate when things backfire. I urge you to reconsider its implementation in light of these potential problems, Respectfully, Jerry Booker Texas USA
