Sector 1 Compression Device

• Maximum applied load = 2000 lb-force.
• Loading is displacement-controlled and screw-driven.
• Loading is applied remotely.
• Strain is measured independently using either strain gages or a clip-on extensometer.
• Device can be mounted on x-y-z stages, with sample in the center of a Huber eulerian cradle.
• Maximum sample rotation without blind spots ~120 degrees.
• Device was designed by Deming Shu of the APS.
