POSITION SUMMARY
The National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) is seeking a very well-qualified person in the area of supercomputer performance analysis.
DUTIES
Essential -- Some activities envisioned for this position include the following:
- Developing a new set of benchmarks to assess supercomputer performance.
- Maintaining and periodically publishing the results of this and other benchmarks.
- Performing research to better understand shortcomings in current high performance computer systems, based in part on analysis of benchmark results.
- Assisting in procurement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential --
- Ph.D. or equivalent experience in computer science or a related technical field.
- Internationally recognized expertise in the evaluation and analysis of high performance scientific computer systems, including both single processor and multiprocessor systems.
- A strong publication record, including peer-reviewed articles in the area of supercomputer performance and benchmarking.
- U.S. citizenship is not required for this position, but the candidate must meet certain requirements for employment at the laboratory and access to the DOE-funded high performance computer systems in the NERSC facility.
