Description/Abstract In no species-treatment group has any growth response of Trifolium been noticeably benefitted by 43- to 280-kr gamma irradiation. All the species showed obvious growth inhibition from 43 kr or more during the first 60 days. Later, certain undetermined recovery adjustments brought those plants from a seed-treatment group with 43 kr to near normal growth characteristics within 4 months. Many seeds exposed to 93 kr are capable of producing mature plants with apparentiy normal characteristics after 4 months of growth. Exposure to 140 kr is a severe treatment from which shoots will develop, but no favorable recovery can be expected. Shoots would not be expected to develop from seeds exposed to 280 kr. (auth)
