Description/Abstract | Every energy manager faces two basic problems today: the continued high price of energy and the possible uncertain availability of energy supplies.^In the future, this scenario may deteriorate.^Though increasing the challenge, this will result in greater opportunities, recognition, and rewards for the energy manager.^This report is essentially limited to conservation and its impact on the corporate energy manager.^The purpose is to enlighten top management on the issues, trends, constraints, and challenges facing the energy manager.^It identifies four key points: the vital role of productivity in reindustrialization; the expanding role of the energy manager; the need for better-qualified energy managers; and the importance of energy managers responding to emerging trends.^2 figures. |
