CORS REVISIONS DUE TO SITE MANAGMENT CHANGES
CORS contributor UNAVCO has accepted operation of a
number of sites formerly operated by other contributors,
resulting in designation changes and corrections to
antenna models. For several such sites, NGS has taken
this opportunity to compute monument coordinates in
addition to antenna reference point and L1 Phase Center
coordinates, resulting in changes to the 60-day plots.
CHAB designation change CHABOT BARD to CHAB_BARD_CN1991
ECHO designation change ECHO CANYON S.P. to ECHO_BRGN_NV1999
EGAN designation change ELY to EGAN_BRGN_NV1996
GTRG designation change GREAT RIFT to GTRG_EBRY_ID1998
TWHL designation change TUMWATER HILL to TWHL_PNGA_WA2001

CORS USERS FORUM (Updated)
Theme: Towards Real-Time Positioning
NOAA's National Geodetic Survey (NGS)--in cooperation with the U.S. Department
of Transportation and the U.S. Coast Guard--is organizing a CORS (Continuously
Operating Reference Station) Users Forum for Tuesday afternoon, 13 September 2005.
This Forum will be an integral part of the Civil GPS Service Interface Committee
(CGSIC) meeting, 12-13 September 2005, to be held at the Renaissance Hotel
(across the street from the Convention Center) in Long Beach, CA. The Institute
of Navigation's GNSS Conference will convene 13-16 September 2005 in Long Beach.
The National and Cooperative CORS networks are comprised of numerous subnetworks
operated by more than 155 organizations. Collectively, these networks include more
than 1000 sites--each containing a geodetic quality, dual-frequency GPS receiver--
and these networks are growing at a rate of about 12 sites per month. NGS and its
partners collect, process, and distribute data from the CORS sites on a continuous
basis in support of numerous activities including land surveying, navigation,
GIS/LIS development, remote sensing, weather forecasting, satellite tracking,
geophysics, and time transfer.

VISION STATEMENT: NOAA's National Geodetic Survey (NGS) is working with
many government, academic, commercial, and private organizations to
collectively sponsor and operate the National Continuously Operating
Reference Station (National CORS) system. As each cooperating
organization encounters various demands on its resources, NGS cannot
guarantee that any given site in the National CORS system will be
operating at any given time. Nevertheless, NGS intends to expand the
system so that all points in the coterminous United States will be
located within 200 km of an operational site at all times. Currently,
about 96% of the coterminous United States is located within 200 km of
an operational site.
