Gene Search

Find genes in selected genomes by keyword.

Keyword:
Filters:

Assume current genome selections or select from genomes below.
Domains(D): B = Bacteria, A = Archaea, E = Eukarya, V = Viruses.

Hint

Except for "exact" filters, all searches treat the keyword as a substring (a word or part of a word).
The search should contain some alphanumeric characters.
Use an underscore (_) as a single-character wildcard.
Use % to match zero or more characters.
All matches are case insensitive.
Very general searches may be slow.
Hold down control key (or command key in the case of the Mac) to select multiple genomes.
Protein patterns are specified egrep regular expressions.

Examples

- "kinase" as a Gene Name gets "Shikimate kinase".
- "fusA" or "fusa" as a Gene Symbol (exact) gets only genes with the symbol "fusA".
- "b0179" as a Locus Tag gets only genes with the locus tag "b0179".
- "AAC73290" will retrieve genes with that GenBank accession.
- "P21645" will retrieve genes with that UniProt accession.
- "fusion" for IMG ORF Type will retrieve all fusion genes. (Other values include "dubious", "frameshift", "img_pseudo", "pseudo", "obsolete", and "real".)
- "100" for Gene Object Identifier will directly retrieve gene with with gene_oid = 100. (Genome selection is ignored.)
- (Try the "kinase" example or See IMG Term browser for valid IMG terms.)
