Abstract
This seminar will feature three presenters. Brian Macke, Director of Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission will describe trends across the state and how the oil and gas permitting process works in Colorado. Next, Duane Spencer, Bureau of Land Management, Branch Chief of Fluid Minerals in the Colorado State office will discuss managing natural gas and oil resources on federal lands. Finally, Michelle Haefele, an economist at the Wilderness Society, will focus on costs to communities from gas and oil development, describing socioeconomic impacts as well as impacts to the land.
