APPENDIX F: Composition of Second Generation Weekly Composite GVI Tapes -
Stacked
The tables below list the time periods (by year) and SSB tape numbers for the Second Generation
weekly composite tapes which have been stacked to fill the available tape. There are three types
of map projections available for each time period: Plate Carrée, Mercator and Polar
Stereographic. All tapes are IBM 3480 cartridges and contain approximately five weeks of
stacked weekly composite data. Note the slight overlap (parallel test period) in dates when
processing of the GVI was transferred from SSB to DPSS (now CEMSCS) on April 11, 1988.
