REP. ANDREWS ANNOUNCES $5 MILLION CONTRACT AWARD FOR TECH CENTER TENANT COMPANY
{May 30, 2003}

Today, I joined with Congressman LoBiondo to announce that Gestalt, LLC, an information technology firm and one of the first tenants at the Camden Center for Entrepreneurship in Technology, has been awarded two government contracts valued at $5 million dollars.  The contracts, which represent 15 new jobs in the city of Camden, are for two technology-related programs to benefit the joint forces of the United States military - Navy, Air Force, Marines and Army.  The awards mark a financial milestone in the revitalization of Camden and the city’s growing technology business sector.

This project and the Tech Center will not only help to grow Camden's existing economy-it will build a new one. The goals of this center are to equip Department of Defense (DoD) war fighters with state-of-the-art communications and networking technology and to educate DoD decision-makers and system developers on the innovative employment of emerging commercial technologies in their systems and applications.  This high tech center will also serve to foster growth in private sector companies that are looking to develop new technologies and products to be used in military applications.

The success of Gestalt validates the vision we had when we opened the Technology Center. This is win-win for everyone involved in this initiative. Camden benefits from new businesses and technology jobs, companies like Gestalt are afforded tremendous resources at the center and given access to government contracts, and the government and military benefit from the cutting -edge technology that is driving private sector businesses. I am extremely pleased with the results thus far and look forward to continued success.
