Mesofront
strong westerly flow at the RFP was a result of upper level winds being channeled by the canyon rather than thermally induced
a small-scale frontal feature completely reversed the winds over the RFP region in a short time period
the shallowness of the event was important because the tracer studies showed that the tracer remained below 150 m in most cases
