including the channel islands national marine sanctuary...
at 10z ... or 2 pm pst ... a 997 mb low was 150 nm w of eureka ... with a
cold front extending sw of the low to near 29n 135w. while the warm
front was parallel to the calif coast n of monterey. this front will
approach the coastal waters today then move through the waters
overnight into monday. gale force winds with local storm warning
winds and building seas are expected over the outer coastal waters
from this morning through mon morning ... with near storm force winds
possible at times n of point arguello. gale force winds are expected
to spread over the inner coastal waters this afternoon and tonight
and persist through monday. the storm system will also bring
moderate to heavy rain ... a slight chance of thunderstorms ... and poor
visibility at times to the coastal waters tonight and mon.
