The Homosexual Information Center (HIC) was established in 1968 to stimulate open discussion and understanding of homosexuality. The Center maintains a library of material on all aspects of homosexuality including newsletters, records, and reports of homosexual organizations. The Center provides general information on homosexuality as well as specialized, in-depth resources for scholars on topics such as AIDS. The resources of the Center are available to the general public, the media, legislative bodies, libraries, and the helping professions. The Center participates in an interlibrary loan network and assists in the preparation of papers and research projects.
Publications
The Center publishes bibliographies, selected reading lists, and publications, and leaflets and reprints. Materials are available in five languages. A publications list is available on request. Serial publication: HIC Newsletter, irregular.
