I would change suggest changing the second document document, Item (1) to:

   Description:  PMEL will host a 1 month visit by one person for training
in TAO data acquisition, monitoring, and quality control.  The purpose is
to ensure the same data quality control procedures are applied to both TAO 
and TRITON sets of standard data (winds, air temperature, relative humidity, 
sea surface temperature, subsurface temperatures, and subsurface pressures.
The training will include providing written documentation describing the
quality control procedures and will include consultation by email until
31 March 1988.

Major changes include specifying only standard TAO data and written
documentation for QC procedures...How does this look to you?  linda
