Reclamation Makes Draft EA/FONSI Available for Acquisition of Site 902 in Suisun Marsh
The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) has released a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) for the acquisition of Site 902 in Suisun Marsh, Solano County, California. The Draft EA and FONSI are available for a 30-day public review and comment period.

Reclamation proposes to provide funding to the State of California Department of Water Resources (DWR) for the acquisition of Site 902 in Suisun Marsh, Solano County, California. Site 902 is an approximately 130-acre parcel located in the southeast portion of the Suisun Marsh along Honker Bay. DWR would provide additional funding to acquire the property. The property would provide habitat with multi-species benefits, including those for federally listed species.

Reclamation has an outstanding obligation under an existing United States Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) Biological Opinion regarding maintenance dredging at Morrow Island Distribution System (MIDS) to either install a fish screen at the MIDS intake structure or implement a Service-approved alternative conservation measure. Reclamation's proposed funding contribution to DWR would fulfill this obligation.

The Draft EA and FONSI were developed to meet requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act. They are available online at http://www.usbr.gov/mp/nepa/nepa_projdetails.cfm.
