SOHO DAILY PLANNING MEETING Saturday, April 13 Announcements: ------------- The ECS computers were down last night due to some hardware changes. The first hour of telemetry data late last night (~01:50 - 03:00 UT) did not get recorded on the ECS computers. The data is being requested from PACOR via quicklook files. Instrument Status: ------------------ FOT report -- things fairly nominal. SUMER -- nominal UVCS -- nominal, continuing with synoptic studies. CDS -- nominal, will be participating in JOP35 on Monday MDI submitted an OCD for 1 hour of VC2 at 19:00 UT and 15 minutes of NRT-d 25 minutes into the VC2. PTCS Adjustment will start at 18:00 UT on Sunday, April 14th. (1 hour SVM_res + 12 hour pointing adjustment) Tuesday's Spacecraft Pointing Change ------------------------------------- E-mail was sent out regarding the spacecraft pointing change scheduled to take place on Tuesday. The SOC requests replies via e-mail rather than verbal to the spacecraft pointing change on Tuesday. So far replies have been received from: GOLF -- GOLF has no need for this pointing adjustment. -- Jacques Charra. VIRGO -- No problem with VIRGO. -- Thanks, Claus Frohlich CELIAS -- CELIAS has no safety concerns for the off-pointing, as there is no thruster operations involved. -- Toni Galvin UVCS -- UVCS requires ~1hr NRT prior to the spacecraft re-pointing to allow us to roll to the North pole. Following the maneuver, ~3-4 hours of NRT will be required to allow us to regain our pointing at sun center. This will involve rolling the instrument almost the full 360 deg - so other instruments may want to be aware of this. -- Joseph Michels SUMER -- SUMER will keep its door opened during the S/C offset by 3.3 minutes North on Tuesday April 16th. To be ready to take this offset into account we need to know few hours in advance when it will happen. Philippe Lemaire CDS -- CDS appears to be ready to go for the roll maneuver on Tuesday. Chris Haskell LASCO -- We would plan to close at least the C1 and C2 doors prior to the repointing of the spacecraft by 3+ arc minutes on Tuesday. Please allow at least 30 minutes for this activity.
