Delegation Announces $13 Million in Funding for Hector Airport
Washington - Senators Kent Conrad and Byron Dorgan and Congressman Earl Pomeroy announced today that Hector International Airport has been awarded a federal grant of $13,048,772 for reconstruction and rehabilitation of key runways.
"As North Dakota's aviation needs grow, our airport infrastructure needs to grow with it, and this major grant will help the state's busiest airport meet the industry's future needs and help ensure safe, efficient travel," the delegation said in a joint statement. "This is great news for Fargo and the entire region."
The grant includes $6 million secured by the delegation plus an additional $7,048,772 awarded by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The grant comes just days after the North Dakota delegation announced more than $2.6 million in funding for infrastructure improvements at airports serving the following 15 North Dakota communities:
