Description: Annual herb with upright stems, 2 - 16 inches (5-40cm) long, and leaves 3/8 - 2 inches (1-5cm) long. Flowers are 6-lobed, with the outer perianth lobes shallowly notched. The perianth is 1/4 inch (4.5-6mm) long, and has white to yellow tubes, and red to purple lobes. The fruit is brownish, 1/16 - 3/16 inches (1.5-4.5mm) long.

Distribution:

Habitat: Woodland, chaparral. Elevation 1920 - 2560 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms May - September.
