The Multifaceted Handmade Quartet

Port-au-Prince, Haiti

This quartet from the U.S., comprised of David Acker (guitar), Tim Ouimette (trompet), Kirk Driscoll (drums), and Jeff Andrews (electric bass) played a rich jazz showing diverse influences.  Playing separately each musician expressed his personality while keeping the coherence of the quartet intact.  Mixing waltz, blues and free jazz, The Handmade Quartet offered a dense, multifaceted music where each musician had an almost equal role.  The cooperation and communication between the artists were perfect and the public was dazzled by it.  The crowd applauded the group on several occasions.  On the pieces, most composed by David Acker, each musician had a moment when he was liberated from the group to create intense improvisations, the fruit of many years of work and maturity.
