The power supply failure is causing PCU2 to behave very erratically. We were getting ready to send the commands to essentially hand-cuff PCU2, so that it could not take action to perceived failures. Before we could get that done PCU2 came back to life enough to declare a non-essential over-current and started to shut stuff off. We managed to restore TLM via the negative acq flow chart. As of 5am we were still trying to get the CSM reloaded to the S/C. We will pick up with things in the late morning. Some folks will come in around 9am and put the recovery plan in place. At this point it looks like A multiple day recovery. We are going to try and at least get back to point on Wednesday. We probably will not attempt to turn on the instrument. At this point, we do not plan on coming in on Thursday to finish the recovery. We may do it on Friday, or we may push it to next week. Right now many things are off - instrument, star trackers, SSR The earliest we will try and do something is on the 1719 UTC contact (1019 MST) Thanks ***************************************************************************************************************** UPDATE: ESPC has received an update from Mission Operations: We are still working the QuikSCAT anomaly. As of 331-08:00 (UTC) we have restored the engineering data stream. And have verified that the SC is healthy. The anomaly has resulted in many components being turned off. It will be several more orbits before we will be able to restore the science data stream. This will occur no earlier than late UTC on Wednesday (and possibly later). We will be working on the detailed recovery plan Wed AM and will send out an estimated return to service Wednesday afternoon. ******************************************************************************************************************* *Details of the Outage: *ESPC is not receiving QUIKSCAT data. UPDATE:

Tuesday afternoon it looks like the  power supply for PCU2 "failed"

PCU2 is on the essential bus, and there really is not a way for us to turn
it off.  The power supply failure is causing PCU2 to behave very erratically.

We were getting ready to send the commands to essentially hand-cuff PCU2,
so that it could not take action to perceived failures.

Before we could get that done PCU2 came back to life enough to declare a
non-essential over-current and started to shut stuff off.

We managed to restore TLM via the negative acq flow chart.

As of 5am we were still trying to get the CSM reloaded to the S/C.

We will pick up with things in the late morning.

Some folks will come in around 9am and put the recovery plan in place.  At
this point it looks like A multiple day recovery.

We are going to try and at least get back to point on Wednesday.  We
probably will not attempt to turn on the instrument.

At this point, we do not plan on coming in on Thursday to finish the
recovery.   We may do it on Friday, or we may push it to next week.

Right now many things are off - instrument, star trackers, SSR

The earliest we will try and do something is on the 1719 UTC contact (1019
MST)

Thanks
