This Federal Business Opportunity Announcement is notice the TRICARE Region 6, 7 & 8 which includes 46 Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming are initiating the standardization process for the product line of Ostomy Pouch Systems. The intent of this standardization is to establish regionally preferred sources for hospital supply i tems and to standardize purchasing of these products for the MTFs. Additional TRICARE Regions may elect to join after the award. Clinical Product Team (CPTs), composed of healthcare workers who have expertise and knowledge of the products, will evaluate t his product line. They will review and technically evaluate the products submitted. Their recommendation can be accomplished by literature review, presentation, demonstration, or clinical evaluation. Suppliers may be required to provide clinical samples at no cost to the government for the evaluation. Vendors interested in having their products evaluated for possible inc lusion in the standardization process should carefully review the stated requirements below. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS for Ostomy Pouch Systems include but are not limited to: The WAFER 1. is low profile for concealment 2. is flexible and fits most contours 3 . has long wear time 4. has insertable convexity discs in multiple sizes 5. comes in deeper convexity style 6. has a cut to fit style 7. has two or one piece, options. The DRAINABLE POUCH 1. has odor proof system 2. comes in standard and short sizes 3 . has audible click when attached. UROSTOMY POUCH has low profile option. ACCESSORIES have flanged face plates for irrigation. If your company currently holds a Distribution and Pricing Agreement (DAPA) for the Medical-Surgical product line for Ostomy Pouch Systems your company is eligible to participate in the standardization effort for this region. If your company is not a current DAPA holder for this product line, you may still be eligible to participate in this standardization effort for this region by contacting the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP), Kim Nichols at (215) 737-7124 or e-mail (Kim.Nichols@DLA.mil) to apply for a DAPA. Your company will be considered once DAPA paperwork is pending at DSCP and you provide your DSCP log number to Sarah Allen at (210) 916-6348 or email: Sarah.Allen@amedd.army.mil. Distribution of these products for the MTFs will be accomplished through Cardinal Health, the DoD Medical-Surgical Prime Vendor for Regions 6, 7 & 8. After you have notified the POC of you r intent to participate, the POC will advise you of the next steps to take. If your company can provide any of these products, please forward literature of all items available from your company that meet the product descriptions above and any corresponding product literature no later than October 9, 2006. Those companies that do not reply by this date may be eliminated from consideration.
