Terra Weekly Mission Status Update
Weekly Update Archive

June 28 - July 4, 2002

All instruments and systems are operating nominally. Recommendations were made on cross-strapping formatters on the MODIS instrument. The plan is to execute the recommended cross-strapping when degraded operations are detected from the instrument. Presently, the instrument is operating properly even with the large number of extraneous time-out errors. The instrument operation is being closely monitored.

The inclination maneuver has been delayed to allow for a minor flight software change that was recommended by the spacecraft manufacturer last week. This change was discovered during further simulation activities and handles a problem automatically if communications is interrupted during inclination maneuver.

TERRA PLANS:

  • A MODIS calibration lunar roll maneuver is scheduled for June 29.
  • The next Inclination Adjust Maneuver is tentatively scheduled for July 17.
