Description/Abstract	An attempt is made to clarify the confusion about the clock paradox of special relativity by introducing a symmetrical definition of simultaneity. This definition is well adapted to the postulate of physical equivalence of inertial frames in uniform relative motion. The Langevin effect is then an immediate consequence of the nontransitivity of this simultaneity relation. (auth)
