A memorandum issued by Paul Henne, Assistant Director of Business Management and Operations, dated December 9, 2003, lists supplemental travel procedures to follow. It is available by clicking on the link below.

The memo states that a copy of the limited open travel authorization (LOTA) for all travelers should be submitted to the National Business Center (NBC) to keep on file. The LOTAs should be submitted as soon as possible. Employees who have access to FFS can verify that the LOTA has been received by looking at the VEND table for each traveler. The following statement: "TA on file for FY 2004" will appear if the LOTA is on file at NBC.

The memo also states that a trip-by-trip travel authorization is required for all training-related travel. Travel to NCTC to attend training is no longer exempt from this requirement.

Another important procedure is that of noting the travel purpose code on all trip-by-trip travel authorizations and on all travel vouchers.
