Mr. Galler is currently working for the Mechanical Systems & Controls group on the Cybernetic Building Systems project, where his duties include expanding and improving the Virtual Cybernetic Building Testbed (VCBT), Visual Test Shell (VTS), the BACnet Data Source (BDS), BACnet Communications DLL (BCD), and BISACS projects. Mr. Galler was also recently appointed Principal Investigator for the VCBT project, and is a voting member on ASHRAE TC 1.5 and GPC 20, and Chair of the TC 1.5 Handbook Subcommittee. Mr. Galler previously worked in the Organic Materials group of BFRL, where his work included a computer model of the photolytic degradation of polymers and the preparation of reflectance samples of varying roughness. Mr. Galler earned a Masters Degree in Materials Science at the University of Maryland at College Park under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Al-Sheikhly. His Masters thesis concerned the 3-D modeling of the settling and packing of ellipsoids, a topic of relevance to many fields of study. |
