    * The southern security agency on Tuesday arrested Nguyen Van Tuan from Hai Duong Province for circulating counterfeit money.

* The owner of the ship "Long Fu" has agreed to pay US$320,000 in compensation for damages caused to the Thu Thiem ferry terminal on June 7 after it hit the floating wharf. (Tuoi Tre)

* Quang Tri Province's public security authorities handed over nine rhino horns on Tuesday to the Vietnam Nature Museum. The building is currently under construction so in the interim, the horns will be kept at the Vietnamese Treasury in Hanoi. (TTXVN)

* The Anti-Corruption Police Investigation Unit will be established under the Ministry of Public Security's police investigation agency. (NLD)

* Police in Binh Duong province uncovered women smuggling ring on Tuesday disguised as wedding ceremony that was being held at Dream Restaurant in Thu Dau Mot Town. (SGGP) 

Six doctors and an anaesthetist at the Soc Trang Polyclinic Hospital will be disciplined for what is described as their dereliction of duty leading to one person's death.

Dao Thi Binh, head of general office of the Education and Training Ministry's office, was temporarily suspected to explain her role in what is said a fraud in an exam to choose civil servants for the ministry.

* A fire at the Binh Minh Cooperative in Long Hoa Ward in Tien Giang Province on Sunday claimed property damages of an estimated VND2 billion. (Tuoi Tre)

* Police within two months arrested 161 people who trafficked women and children across the border from July 1 to August 31.

* One of two robbers, who snatched a woman's handbag and fled, died on Sunday for crashing into a truck. The other suffered brain injury. (SGGP)

* Phu My Outpost's troops in Kien Giang Province on Saturday caught six people transporting more than 1,000 liters of oil across the border.

* Son La Province People's Court will open the first-instance hearing against a drug trading and trafficking ring led by Trinh Nguyen Thuy, who is accused of trading tons of heroin together with his accomplices. (NLD)

* Police yesterday caught red-handed a reporter of the Dien Dan Doanh Nghiep newspaper blackmailing an enterprise named Hai Van in northern Hai Duong Province. The culprit named Nguyen Hong Son forced the enterprise to give him US$10,000, and was detained while taking money from the enterprise's director.

* Son La Province yesterday opened three mobile hearing cases against drug traffickers, and handed down a total 35 years behind the bars to four people for trading, abusing and trafficking drug. (TTXVN)
