The information on the NEW DCPs page presents a list of those GOES platforms that are currently uplinking raw data messages and have not yet been defined into the HADS Network.
The listed 8 character GOES identifier is a link to a web page that presents the data point location. The first image shows the DCP location within its state. The second image 'zooms-in' on the location to provide more detailis and near-by geographic references. The site meta-data that accompanies each 8 character NESDIS identifier has been extracted from the NESDIS DAPS database and represents exactly what the owner/operator of the DCP has provided to DAPS. This is the information that we typically use in order to add a new site to HADS. The site locations are sorted and presented on a state-by-state basis. Also presented when available, is the site's location description, latitude, longitude, SHEF code indicators and the Julian date of the meta-data. This Julian date entry is important, since its age may help determine the validity of the entry. Please review this page and determine if data from a listed site is needed for your office's activities. Upon requests from the appropriate NWS office, we will add these new sites to the HADS network. With each request to add a site, please provide the appropriate NWSLI for this 'new' site....and if possible verify the information provided by the owner. We will also attempt to verify the site location before adding it to the network. If it's determined that a listed site is not needed, please advise us so that it can be removed from the list. All correspondence should be addressed to hadsteam@gateway2.nws.noaa.gov This NEWDCP page is normally updated daily at 6:45AM Eastern time. |
