Description: Perennial  herb. Green parts minutely downy. Stems somewhat lying down, with the tips ascending, 2 - 4 1/2 inches (5-12cm) long. Leaves many and thin, 1 1/8 - 3 1/8 inches (3-8cm) long. Leaves containing 4-8 pairs of uncrowded leaflets, 1 1/8 - 2 3/8 inches (3-6mm) long, oblanceolate (spear shape in reverse) to obovate (fatter at the middle). Flower cluster is a cyme (flat topped with central flowers opening first) with few flowers, and a thread-like pedicel (stalk of an individual flower). Flower is 2/8 - 3/8 inches (5-10mm) wide, with 5 sepals 1/8 inch (2-3mm) long, and 5 yellow, linear petals 1/16 inch (1.5-2mm) long. Fruit is an achene 1-2 millimeters. 

Distribution:

Habitat: Limestone crevices. Hanging clumps on vertical rocks. Pinyon and juniper woodland. Elevation 6,720 - 11,520 feet (2100-3600 meters).

Flowering Period: Blooms June - July
