Description/Abstract This patent describes a method for removing sinusoidal noise from a data trace.^It comprises: determining a line frequency for the sinusoidal noise; determining an exact autocorrelation function for the sinusoidal noise of the determined frequency; producing a convolutional filter from the exact autocorrelation function; and applying the filter to the data trace to remove the sinusoidal noise.
