Profile:
In cooperation with the Johnson County Office of Emergency Management and Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center, the Johnson County Health Department is recruiting and training a Medical Reserve Corps. With financial and organizational support from the Kentucky Department for Public Health, Preparedness Branch, Johnson County MRC focuses on helping volunteers become personally prepared so that they are aboe to respond and support the community in an emergency. The Johnson County Medical Reserve Corps functions as a volunteer organization to help preserve the health and safety of the citizens of Johnson County in the event of a Public Health emergency. The Johnson County Medical Reserve Corps consist of the network of volunteers who are active in our successful Citizens Corps and newly recruited medical professionals.

Johnson County MRC coordinators conduct awareness, family preparedness, and IS700 classes. Contact Preparedness coordinator, Johnson County Health Department,606-789-2590 to schedule a class for your organization.

5/26/2008
Began airing a three month television campaign (commercial) to publicize Kentucky's web based MRC/CERT recruiting tool. The goal of this effort is th increase MRC volunteer recruitment. This campaign is a coordinated effort by 19 South Eastern Kentucky Counties.

Attended the MRC National Leadership Conference in Portland, Oregan.

Khelps training--training for using/administerator of the KY Department for Public Health sponsored Web tracking/recruiting tool for MRC

9/3/2007
MRC sponsored Brochures, Tray liners, Book marks, and Billboards for the 5 county Big Sandy Area of KY. Hand washing cirriculum, tray liners, book marks were distributed to all schools and selected restraunts.
