This project requires the contractor to construct two reinforced concrete bridge abutments and install a government furnished prefabricated steel pedestrian truss bridge 41’ long by 4’ wide, over the Muddy River Creek. This work includes the transport and installation of the government furnished bridge, decking, bearing components, and associated hardware from the storage site at the USFS Pine Creek Administrative Work Center, to its final destination at the project site, approximatly 23 miles away. The project area is a remote site and the bridge is expected to be airlifted from a prepositioned location, vicinity T8N, R6E, Sec 20. Work shall be completed by June 1st, 2009.



The government will proceed to issue a solicitation under FAR Part 12 for services (minor construction). This acquisition is 100 percent set-aside for HUBZone concerns. The NAICS code for this solicitation is: 237310. Te estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. Offerors will be evaluated on price, experience, and past performance. Contract award will be to the offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is the best value to the government.



Performance and payment bonds are required for this project. Davis-Bacon wage rates apply to any resulting contract. The proposed contract-type is firm-fixed price. This solicitation will be available on or about August 22, 2008.



All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by the government. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on the part of the offeror will render an offeror ineligible for award.
