Login Computers
Currently we have three computers in use for an experiment: VAL, ALAS and CYS. You can start your experiments at any of these three computers.
Computer | Login Name | Login Password | Description |
---|---|---|---|
[VAL] | x6auser | Given by local contact | all the data will be save here |
[PRO] | x6auser | Given by local contact | all the programs (dcs-start and grepx) will run here |
[CYS] | x6auser | Given by local contact | internet acess and monitoring the hutch and the beam current |
Start DCS Program
The main program for data processing is called DSC which is running on computer ALAS.
1. | Open one terminal on ALAS, then enter DSC-LOG directory on computer ALAS: | cd DCS-LOG |
2. | The local contact will create a new folder of the format YYYYMMDD (The name will be the initial day of the measurement) | mkdir YYYYMMDD |
3. | Enter the new directory: | cd YYYYMMDD |
4. | Start DCS program | dcs-start_noautomounter |
Stop DCS Program
If you experience some problems with hardware, first thing is to Stop the DCS, then restart the DCS program.
- To exit the DSC program choose Menu File -> Exit.
- Open the terminal where you typed dcs-start, type in command:
stop-server
This command will safely terminate all DSC running processes and all the connections between the computers and the DCS program.
Web site cameras
In order to follow what is happening inside the hutch at the sample, at the control room and at the mirror, you can use the following web page: http://cam/view/indexFrame.shtml
and you will see:
