Willow Creek Mine Fire
 Click Picture for Enlargement To facilitate removal of the shields at the headgate, the pillar just outby the face (crosscut 35) was slabbed to widen the crosscut opening by 12 feet. The roof in the slabbing area was supported and face equipment was prepared for removal beginning October 24. The stageloader, crusher and shearer removal was completed October 29, and the tail drive and panline removal was completed October 31. Preparations for screening and bolting the face were begun.
