Muscular Dystrophy Association Pumpkin Push

Over 40 Team Battelle Volunteers participated in this run/walk. Battelle was recognized as the largest team at this event. (Fall 2006)

Northwest Public Radio

Team Battelle volunteers answered phones at WSU-TC during the "Power Hour" on the first day of on-air fundraising and raised $35,000. (Fall 2006)

Ice Age Flood Team

Team Battelle volunteers show off newly completed display panels for the Lake Lewis Chapter of the Ice Age Flood Insitute. Children's Cancer Celebrity Golf Tournament

Team Battelle volunteers helped raise over $55,00 for the Children's Cancer Foundation in May.(Summer 2006)

Daffodil Days

Yellow was found everywhere.Gert Patello and team were busy sorting Daffodils so they could deliver them to staff on March 13. (Spring 2006)

Vertical Challenge - Snow Geeks ROCK

The Team Battelle Snowgeeks have a lot to be proud about. March 11-12 they skied the Vertical Challenge on White Pass and they won the Gold Medal for most money raised as a team. A Bronze Medal for number of Vertical by the team - 643,800 feet. A Silver Medal for team member David Pfund (in photo) skiing 24 hours which was 122,500 vertical feet which was 169 runs. Tri-Cities Chaplaincy/Hospice Benefit Concert

Battelle staff members perform at the "A Thankful Heart" concert held at Battelle auditorium February 3-4, 2006, benefitting the Tri-Cities Chaplaincy/Hospice new facility. The benefit raised over $2,400, to date.(Winter 2006)

Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort

Staff members donated necessity items that were shipped to a community center in Baton Rouge, LA to benefit displaced victims. Jack Horne coordinated luncheon fundraisers and Kevin Selby played at a benefit concert which contributed to the more than $6900 raised by Team Battelle with proceeds going to the Salvation Army. (Fall 2005)

Born premature, Peyton had the honor of serving as the ambassador for this year's WalkAmerica. (Spring 2005)

Battelle Ritzy Rides Road Rally

The Battelle Ritzy Rides Road Rally or BRRRR is just an excuse to go for a fun cruise and get the winter blues out of us and dust off of our cars and bikes. This road trip is a family-oriented, springtime, "run what'cha brung" picnic run and everyone is welcome to attend. Proceeds go to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center and motorcycles, hot rods, cruisers, tuners, minivans, SUVs, whatever - are welcome. Tom Thomas, Terry Erickson, and Doug Fitzsimmons are the project leads. More information can be found on the Battelle Ritzy Rides Road Rally website. (Spring 2005)

Roll out the red carpet!

Team Battelle volunteers Bob Johnson, Jill Walters and Kathy Neiderhiser were on hand to help welcome home PFC Joel Robertson, son of Battelle's Byron Robertson. Home on a two-week leave, Joel was involved in house-to-house sweep operations in the suburbs of Abu Grahab, Iraq, with the 10th Mountain Division. The red carpet homecoming was organized by ACES (American Citizens Encouraging Support). (Spring 2005)

2004 Battelle Community Spirit Award

The Community Spirit Award nominees were (left to right) Mary Hartman, Sharyn Click-Schubert, Christine Espy, award recipient Darlene Varley, Laura Curtis, Chuck Lopresti and Kathy Mellinger. The award nominees were recognized at the May 20 Volunteer Appreciation Celebration.

Expanding Your Horizons

Megan Lerchen and Sam Bryan were among 13 Team Battelle presenters at the Expanding Your Horizons conference. Their chemistry presentation emphasized food chemistry and possible careers. About 130 middle school aged girls attended the conference to learn about non-traditional women's careers requiring a math or science background. Team Battelle volunteers contributed 206 volunteer hours in support of this annual conference. (Spring 2004)

Playground of Dreams

The Playground of Dreams rebuild project was completed a day early thanks to dedicated volunteers such as Jonathan Hanni and Jeff Leaumont, and skilled saw operator Bill Samuels. Twenty-four Team Battelle volunteers logged more than 72 hours working on the project. (Spring 2004)

Alzheimer's Walk

Anna Mitson and her father had the honor of accepting the "Little Red Shoes" trophy on behalf of Team Battelle following the 2004 "Go the Extra Mile for Alzheimer's" Walk. Anna is pictured holding the trophy. The creature with the antenna is Granny's Buffet Bee mascot who helped officiate during the award presentation. Anna raised $500 of the $2,336 total Team Battelle contributed to the fund raiser. (Winter 2004)
