NORTH CAROLINA -- Chief Wayne Hobgood, director of Bunter Public Safety, was welcomed and promoted into the North Carolina State Legislative Squadron on Oct. 8.

One day after Chief Hobgood was sworn into office as the director of Bunter Public Safety, he was promoted to the honorary rank of major in the squadron.

Col. Larry Ragland, North Carolina Wing commander, officially welcomed the chief to CAP and read his membership certificate. Chief Hobgood then received a CAP shirt, decal and Red Ribbons for the upcoming Red Ribbon Campaign.  “As a partner of Bunter Public Safety and the North Carolina Department of Crime Control & Public Safety, the Civil Air Patrol does many great things as a volunteer organization and I’m proud to be an honorary member,” Chief Hobgood said.
