NOTICE:

This document does not reflect the tariff and other modifications that will result when the North American Free Trade Agreement is signed into law.  If this signing occurs during the effective period of this edition of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, a supplement to this document will be issued.  

DECOMPRESSING THE SELF-EXECUTING COMPRESSED FILE:
 
All of the 113 files of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US (1994), except this documentation file, are contained in a single self-executing compressed file named 94HTSA0.EXE.  Before downloading, make a directory named HTS (or similar name of your choice) on a hard drive with at least 10 MB free space.  Download the compressed file to that directory.  In DOS, change to your HTS directory.  Your DOS prompt should look something like: C:\HTS>.  Type 94HTSA0.EXE <enter>.  The document will begin decompressing, creating a separate file for each chapter or major part of the Schedule.  When this decompression is completed, you can access the files through a word processor capable of importing WordPerfect 5.0 files.


CONTENTS:

This set consists of copies of the original WordPerfect 5.0 files that were used to create the camera copy from which the hard-copy edition of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the US (1994) were printed.  Every effort has been made to assure that these files accurately reflect the printed Schedule.  In the event of a discrepancy, however, the printed Schedule is the official version.  The availability of the printed edition will also allow anyone using these files to see how the complete schedule is assembled.
