DX_FV193 GREELEY FEDERAL-STATE April 30, 2003 YAKIMA, WASHINGTON WASHINGTON D.C. COLORADO HONEY REPORT The state's river basins have seen an increase in moisture content during the month, with most of the northern 2/3 of the state at normal or above. The southern 1/3 of the state continues at only 75% of normal. Spring storms throughout the month brought additional snowpack to the mountains and rain to the eastern plains. Water restrictions are being enforced to most cities statewide throughout the summer months to allow the reservoirs to replenish the water they have lost the last 3 drought stricken years. Spring blooms of fruit trees, spring flowers, dandelion and alfalfa has given the bee colonies some much needed pollen and nectar sources during the month. Beekeepers report most migratory colonies have returned to the state to their Summer yards and most colonies are reported in good condition.
