North Dakota’s three grasslands offer natural beauty and prime wildlife viewing.

 

Little Missouri Natural Grassland

The largest and most diverse grassland in the west, 140 miles of rolling prairie and majestic Badlands offer a chance to catch a glimpse of prairie dog towns, eagle and falcon nests, elk, antelope, mule deer and white-tailed deer. This is also home to the North Dakota’s only natural Ponderosa Pine Forest.

Sheyenne National Grassland

Enjoy hunting, hiking, horseback riding, camping, canoeing on fishing on the Sheyenne River on this 70,000 acre grassland in southeaster North Dakota.

Cedar River National Grassland

Level plains to rolling hills make up the terrain of this 6,700 acred grassland.
