This project involves herbicide spraying of noxious weeds within and adjacent to the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness (FC-RONRW). Herbicide treatment will be conducted using backpack or stock pack sprayers. This project includes three weed infested sites of approximately 15 - 20 acres each and two trail segments of approximately 4 miles each. Each site is remote and will require appropriate access into the FC-RONRW. Contractors will be required to be licensed as professional pesticide applicators by the State of Idaho. All Idaho listed noxious weeds, as well as hoary alyssum (Berteroa incana), will be treated. The Forest Service will provide specifications regarding the type and amount of herbicide to apply, treatment parameters and constraints, and treatment records to be completed by the contractor. GPS units will be used by the contractor to record location of treatment sites. Work will be solicited in Summer 2006 with work to be done in the Fall of 2006 and Spring of 2007.
