Radiosonde Measurement of the Weather

The Radiosonde is perhaps the most important measuring tool for direct (in-situ) measurement of the values of temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed and wind direction of the air above the ground. While there are other important measurements of the weather, the radiosonde excels in these direct measurements of the atmosphere used in the simulations of the atmosphere which are at the foundations of modern weather forecasting.
