 U.S. Border Patrol Del Rio Sector hosts Town Hall Meeting
(03/27/01)DEL RIO, TEXAS - The Del Rio Border Patrol Station held a Town Hall Meeting, in conjunction with the Del Rio Sector Rancher Liaison Program, at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2001, at the Del Rio Station on Highway 90 East, Del Rio, Texas. The U.S. Border Patrol initiated the Rancher Liaison Program in order to facilitate better communication with ranchers along the border. The community met Jim Van Gorkom, new Patrol Agent in Charge of the Del Rio Station. Specially assigned liaison agents were on hand to respond to ranchers' questions and actively sought input regarding rural border enforcement initiatives.Town Hall meetings are held regularly throughout the Del Rio Sector, which extends along the Rio Grande River from Val Verde County through Maverick County. |
