These photos are taken on 8th April 1997. I use an old ricoh camera with 50mm F1.4 lense. The film I used in Kodak 400ASA with exposure of 30sec. The camera was mounted to a tripod and left unguided.

Comet Hale-Bopp was too low to be seen last month. By early April, it would be around 5 degrees in altitude around 8.30pm local time.

Joining me is my dad, mum and a friend. The place chosen for the viewing was on top of a hill on the way to Balik Pulau. We could see the Hindi Ocean bathing in the light from the sunset.

Although the sky condition was good, we couldn't see any ion tail. With the naked eye, though, a 5 degrees long dust tail could be seen easily.
