Flood Summary

Continued Flooding in the Carolinas

Substantial flooding continues along the Neuse River in North Carolina, with flooding expected to continue into next week. In South Carolina, the Waccamaw River has fallen, but is still 3 feet above flood stage at Conway. Minor flooding continues along other rivers in the Carolinas. Heavy rains are forecast for Friday along the central Gulf Coast and the lower Mississippi, with local amounts of 5 inches possible. The heavier rains are forecast to move into the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys on Saturday.
