Januray 24, 2007-- "The President is endeavoring to protect American citizens from one of the most insidious enemies this country has ever faced. Many people may disagree with his method in fighting the war on terror but I am at least convinced of one thing: The best way to ensure the highest number of deaths for our warfighters abroad and our citizens at home is to allow Congress to manage this war."
Franks continued, "The President has reaffirmed his resolve to help actualize a self-sustaining free government in Iraq. I believe his new strategy will eventually achieve this end.
"Ultimately, if we allow terrorists to take over oil-rich Iraq, we are subjecting America and the entire human family to inexpressible danger."
Rep. Trent Franks represents the 2nd District of Arizona in the U.S. Congress. He is a member of the House Armed Services Committee, the House Judiciary Committee and is the Ranking Member on the Constitution Subcommittee. |
