I was sold lasik surgery like it was as safe as a haircut. The salespeople
downplayed all risks and literally said,noone gets complications.
My visual acuity was damaged permanently and irregular astigmatism was
created where there previously had been none. I suffered from vertigo immediately
afterwards along with migraines,nausea and late-onset nystagmus. These
conditions have continued for years now. I have diplopia,dry eye and binocularity
problems also. Months of vision therapy never changed anything. My prescription
drifts constantly and is not correctable without hard contacts which are not an
option because of severely dry eye. I now know I have ectasia and may need a
corneal transplant in the future.
I am on permanent total disability at this point.
The company totally denied my problems and illegally failed to report anything
whatsoever to the FDA. They never offered me any help whatsoever and the
opthalmologist never examined or saw me again as a patient. He told me from
across the store,lasik had nothing to do with it.
After much research,it seems this is common practice.
Please help stop this harmful surgery or at least force these criminals to refrain
from selling it using half truths and outright lies. Thank You
