Addition to 15 Most Wanted Fugitive List

Joseph Elias George EttimaFebruary 10, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals announced today the addition of Joseph Elias George Ettima to the service’s 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. Ettima is wanted in California in connection with the murder of his grandmother. This Week in US Marshals History, February 16-22
 
Passing of a Pioneer...on February 17, 1983, when 24-year employee Benjamin F. Butler, the first African-American to serve as an Assistant Regional Director and Special Assistant to the Director, and who also served as the Chief of Court Security Division and U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of New York, passed away from illness. He was being honored the same day with a Special Achievement Award for his humanitarian efforts.

Montana Moves From Territory to District...
on February 22, 1889, when the jurisdiction was created. It was effective upon Montana’s admission as a state on November 8, 1889. The original appointment, U.S. Marshal George Irvin, was confirmed on February 14, 1889.
