Nelson Notes on Far Installation/Integration meeting, November 11, 2001 --------------------------------------------------------------- Present: Louie Barrett, Tass Belias, Dave Boehnlein, Roy Lee, Jim Kilmer, Bill Miller, Leon Mualem, Jeff Nelson, Earl Peterson, Ben Speakman, Chris Smith, Jonathan Thron, Jon Urheim, Bob Webb A. Information items 1. The next FII meeting will be next Monday, November 19. Agenda items will include a review of action items from the November 11 meeting. 2. The next meeting on detector plane commissioning will be held Monday Nov 26th. B. Decisions 1. The HV mainframes can remain powered during while unattended, though, the HV should be turned off. 2. An in-rack smoke detector is not required for the clock rack. 3. If a replacement clear optical cable is required take the appropriate cable from the next rack (i.e. add 32 to the plane number) and notify Art so that a replacement can be produced and shipped. C. Action items from this meeting 1. Bolts with washer (or narrower washers and bolts - torque) 2. Jim Kilmer and Jeff will revisit the tolerances of the coil in light of the collars drifting to the bottom of the tolerance window on plane 47. 3. Jim Kilmer will have the steel group look at the details of the cut plates to determine if there are any cutting problems in the steel plate. 4. Earl Bill, and Jeff will look into the feasibility of having a backup lift and/or replacement parts for the cranes to ensure rapid repair. 5. Alec will determine if there is an appropriate location for the fieldpoint rail and environmental monitoring hardware away from the front end racks and relocate the devices. 6. Investigations on the FEE noise problems should concentrate on the without the RPS connected. Chris will continue to examine grounding issues. 7. Roy and Chris will investigate the apparent failure of 10 VFB sockets (out of 70) observed during the VA replacements. 8. Dave Boehnlein and Bernie will develop a web site that contains the latest survey data and a regularly updated summary report. D. Action items from previous weeks 1. Physicists at Soudan, especially shift leaders, should study Liz's CRL logbook specifications. Liz also needs a list of Soudan machines on which the system should be installed. Leon will follow up with Caltech on proposal to have scintillator factory module mapper personnel flag modules with bad strips that should be remapped or transmission tested at Soudan. 3. Jon Urheim will provide a list of action items for software and computing tasks discussed at the meeting. 4. Pete will work with Tim Gerla to provide web-based tools for entering steel plane and detector plane assembly information and plex data. He will work with Dave Boehnlein to provide for entry of survey data into the database. 5. Nat will provide the operating manual and other documentation for the HV control system by Thanksgiving. 6. Louie will document the labeling scheme that has been adopted for racks, MUX boxes and for the MUX end of clear fiber cables. He will arrange to have labels placed on the racks, MUX boxes and cables according to this scheme. 7. Louie will follow up with Phil Harris will provide a delivery schedule for extra long LI fiber bundles as replacements. 8. Albert and Jeff will add a bridge to the magnet coil readback/control system, to compare resistance of the two halves of the coil. 9. Alec will document the DCS iFix procedure for local/remote/surface access.
