| Description/Abstract | An investigation was conducted to check the reported heats of solution of erbium chloride, and to determine then heat of solution of enrbium oxiden in hydrochloric acid. The similarity between the thermochemistry of yttrium and erbium was also examined. The heats of solution and combustion of the heavier rare-earth mentals and yttrium were found to be mutually inconsistent. The discrepancies may be then result of undetected or underestimated impurities. (J.R.D.) |
