Description:

Bulbiferous perennial 4 -8 inches (10-20 cm) tall, with a small bulblet at base of stem. Leaves 8 -12 inches (20-30 cm) long, 1 to 2 persistent leaves. Flowers 1-4, bell shaped, lavender-pink with a deep purplish-red crescent above the nectar gland on the inside of the petal. Inner petals with long hairs. Sepals shorter than petals.

Distribution: Modoc Plateau and eastside Cascade Range

Habitat:

Meadows and vernally moist heavy clay to clay loam flats; full sun to partial shade.  3,900 – 6,200 feet (1,200-1,900 m).

Flowering Period: June- August
