Subject: Notice to the American Community - May 10, 2004 The U.S. Mission in Tokyo has received information, through the Internet, about a possible bomb attack against the American Embassy during the week of May 10. We are unable at this time to determine the credibility of the threat, but we feel it is our responsibility to take all such information seriously and to share this with the American Community. The appropriate Japanese authorities have been notified. As noted in our Worldwide Public Announcement of April 29, 2004 (http://travel.state.gov/wwc1.html), we suggest that everyone remain vigilant and follow the precautions contained in that notice. Additional information on safety and security is also available on our web site at http://www.tokyoacs.com, or at http://japan.usembassy.gov/e/tacs-main.html#safety.
